Dream BIG: Store Manager Honored With Scholarship
Rebecca Fox, temporary district manager, district 316, was honored with the “Dream BIG” scholarship from the National Retail Federation in collaboration with University of Phoenix. Each year, the full-tuition scholarship is awarded to 20 individuals working in retail who want to further their education and advance their retail careers. “I’m extremely happy to have Rebecca on my team. Her focus on delivering a great experience for her customers has allowed her to quickly move from a part-time sales associate to a temp district manager role,” says Quentin Cox, regional director, Region 18.
“When I met Rebecca, I realized that she is as passionate about her development as she is about our customer’s experience. I am very proud of her and I have great expectations for her future. This is a well-deserved opportunity.”
Rebecca plans to use her “Dream BIG” scholarship to pursue a bachelor’s degree in business at the University of Phoenix. In conjunction with her Dollar General Talent Development Center - DM (TDC) training earlier this year, the degree will help Rebecca achieve her career goals within Dollar General.
“Rebecca’s success is a true testament to those who put effort into building relationships with leaders and taking the initiative to learn,” says Troy Simpson, director, Field Human Resources. “I applaud Rebecca for seeking out these ventures for growth and development.”
