Assessment

Q. Can I take the assessment on a smart phone or tablet?

A. Unfortunately, Dollar General candidate assessments are not compatible with smart phones and tablets. Please access your candidate assessment via a PC.

Q. What should I do if I am taking the assessment and while I am taking it the web site locks up?

A. You will receive an email after 48 hours with instructions to go back into the assessment and complete. However if you follow the process below you will be able to access the assessment prior to the notification. Please log out of the application process completely and then go back to www.dollargeneral.com/careers CLICK on "Store Careers" CLICK on the appropriate position.

SELECT the state where you are applying

The DG application site will pull up and you will be asked to log in (enter the email address and password that you used when you applied originally). If you have forgotten your password, then you will need to apply again using a new email address. Once you have signed on, the system will give you a list of options. Please CLICK the "Assessment" link

Your pending assessments will display. CLICK the pending assessment title and the assessment will pop up in a browser window. (Please be sure you turn off Pop-up blockers.)

Q. Do I have to complete an assessment every time I apply to a new position/requisition?

A. If you are applying to different positions then an assessment must be completed for each position i.e. store manager and hourly associate. If you are applying to the same position but different locations then you only have to take the assessment once.

Q. How will I know if the store receives my application?

A. Once you have completed the application and any required assessments, you will receive an email confirmation at the email address you provided on the application. Please check spam folders or other email security alert folders if you do not see the email.

Unfortunately, due to the large volume of applications we receive, we are unable to respond personally to all applicants. Should your qualifications match our staffing needs, we will contact you directly.

Candidate applications expire after forty-five days. If your application expires, we encourage you to re-apply to any positions in which you are interested.
