Toys for Tots: Commitment to Serving Others Increases Sales
District Manager Vicky aims to positively impact the store managers she leads and DG store communities they serve. For the past six years, she has been involved with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Foundation event sponsored by Bob, a member of the local Fraternal Order of Police (FOP).
“I can’t imagine a better way to be involved with the community,” said Vicky. “It’s a great cause and helps me give back.”
This was the first year store managers in District 256 were directly involved with the event. Vicky selected a store in Maumelle, Ark. for the FOP and local Marines to shop at DG to buy toys for children in need. Not only were the store team, regional trainer and additional district managers on site to support the store, but vendors and community partners attended the event.
It was amazing!” said Kemi, store manager. “I’ve never seen a group so dedicated to selecting the perfect toy for the children they were buying for. I am thankful I had plenty of toys for them to select from and thankful for the experience.”
In the end, several Arkansas families benefited from this event. Total sales tallied more than $13,300. How does your store impact the community?
